One of the most trending electric car news stories in the USA in 2024 was the creation of 45,000 electric vehicle jobs. These claims came from one of the new automotive companies in the USA, the Imola Automotive. Fast forward to September 2025 not even a single EV plant has come up in any of the planned areas. Plans were made to set up the EV plants in smaller southern towns of the USA, and Fort Valley in Georgia was chosen as an ideal location to set up new EV plants.

It was planned that a 500,000 square foot factory would be set up in this location, but nothing has materialized till this point in time. It was also planned that homes and stores would be added for workers, but everything is now on the back burner. Experts assumed that the success of the Georgia plan would mean greater EV adoption in the USA, especially in the southern states.
Imola Automotive also planned to set up factories in other prime southern locations such as Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Langston, Oklahoma; however, those plans, too, are now on the back burner. Everything was perfect with respect to the Pine Bluff plan, as land was easily acquired in that region for setting up the EV factories. However, the mayor of the region, Shirley Washington, confirmed that just like Georgia, the plan never really took off. While the case of Langston is somewhat different.
Though Imola wanted to acquire land in the region to set up EV factories, they never got the land. After all these setbacks, Imola has confirmed that at this point in time, the Georgia plan in Fort Valley remains its top focus. While the EV market share in the USA is constantly growing, many small towns in Georgia are yet to benefit from this progress.
Imola aims to make rapid growth in the USA’s EV market share. In the same line, the company has confirmed that now it is working with the Tazzari Group of the USA, which is most commonly known for making microcars. The microcars of the company stand out in the market because it is one of the very few companies that make tiny two-seater cars.
Most of the electric car vehicle discussion in the USA revolves around Tesla vs Rivian. However, Imola wants to make a mark in the electric vehicle market in the USA by offering cars that are more affordable. Many people in the USA are on the lookout for the cheapest EV cars in the USA, and at present, Imola is targeting this group of people. However, none of the products are on the market as of yet.
Whenever these cars get launched, they can benefit from the EV tax credit and other EV incentives in the USA. However, at this point in time, the two leaders in the EV market of the USA are Tesla and Rivian. Though Imola is trying to make a mark in this sector, people are unsure about it. This is mainly due to the fact that the CEO of Imola, Rodney Henry, does not have any real experience in auto manufacturing. Being relatively new to the market, people are not really convinced that Imola can go face-to-face with Tesla and Rivian at this point. Rodney, though known for a successful show brand, might face a tough time in the EV market of the USA, which is largely being dominated by Tesla and Rivian.
As of now, Imola has only expressed its desire to take on the big names of the EV market in the USA; however, no promises have been made as of yet. Rodney also said that people are giving more focus to EV maintenance costs and EV battery life, so whenever they come up with their much-discussed EV vehicle, these two aspects will get the highest priority.
